Cryogenics - Sporting Goods Cryogenic processing - Baseball - Softball Aluminum baseball bats hit balls farther, with less shock to the hitter. Cryogenically treating a baseball bat will also increase its life expectancy by the removal of unwanted stress, enabling the bat to maintain its shape better. One of the problems with aluminum bats is the tendency to dent. This denting stems from the uneven stresses radiating within the bat. When the bat is struck between stress boundaries, there is a tendency for it to deform or even dent. By removing the stress pattern, the bat absorbs the impact evenly, reducing deformation and batter sting. Distance increases appear to be in the 2% to 3% range on well-hit balls. It may not sound like much, but on a 300' hit, 6 to 9 more feet could mean a home run instead of just a long out. Cryogenic processing - Skate blades Skate blades for ice figure skaters or hockey players stay sharper longer and require less sharpening (less material removal). Many skaters feel they can get a bit more speed, and they glide better. Cryogenics only needs to be carried out one time for the life of the blade.
Cryogenic processing - Golf clubs and balls Golf club heads that have been cryogenically treated (metal woods and irons) exhibit a sweet spot that is increased by 2 to 3 times its normal size. With the residual stress removed from the casting or machining process, it makes a difference-not just for longer shots but for more accuracy. Golf balls that have been cryogenically processed and hit on a mechanical swing machine showed an increased hit distance of 5 to 10 yards farther, and had a tighter landing circle. Combined with a cryogenically treated driver, the re- sults showed balls could consistently be hit 20 to 30 yards farther. Cryogenic processing - Bicycle parts Bicycle parts cryogenically treated will wear longer and run smoother, taking less energy. Tires and tubes last longer as well. Some sports items that we cryogenically process Baseball bats, Softball bats, Golf clubs, Golf balls, Roller blade wheels, Skate blades, urethane wheels, Bearings, Bicycle components, Tenis rackets, RC electric motors, Nylon string, Fishing line, Fishing hooks.
